Adam Robinson, Head of Sustainability at Paranova, recently joined an industry-leading panel of speakers at the Midlands Packaging Society’s Pack To The Future to explore one of the biggest questions facing the packaging industry: “Sustainable Packaging – Is it all it’s cracked up to be?”
Bringing together experts from across the packaging value chain, the conference featured speakers from organisations including Ecosurety, WRAP, SUEZ UK and Loughborough University, providing a range of perspectives on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of sustainable packaging
Representing the packaging converter’s perspective, Adam’s explored why sustainability should be viewed as more than material choice or end-of-life considerations.
Adam highlighted the importance of designing packaging with the entire value chain in mind, demonstrating how better design, smarter manufacturing and responsible sourcing can deliver meaningful environmental progress.
Commenting after the event, Adam said: “Sustainable packaging isn’t created by one business making decisions. It happens when every part of the supply chain works together to make better choices from design through to manufacture and beyond.”
The discussion reinforced the need for every part of the packaging value chain to play its role in addressing sustainability challenges, with speakers sharing practical insights into balancing environmental progress with the needs of brands, retailers and consumers.
